I am – Hercules!!
“Green Hornet” - which has been in development since the 1980s with Eddie Murphy, George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg and Jake Gyllenhaal all locked at one time or another to play the Batman-like crimefighter – is now in the hands of “Superbad” masterminds Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
The Hornet, who began life on radio in 1933, is the grand-nephew of The Lone Ranger.
The Ranger and the Hornet, both named Reid, were the brainchildren (as well as Tonto and Kato) of Detroit lawyer and businessman George Washington Trendle.
Variety put up the scoop several hours ago. Read all of that paper’s story on the matter here.
