ORIGINAL POST: It’s Emmy nomination day! Will “24,” which won the top drama Emmy last year, find itself shut out? What about “Desperate Housewives”? Have Emmy voters wised up the idea that it’s not a comedy? Or good? I have some confidence that “The Sopranos” and “Lost” and “House” and “The Office” and “30 Rock” and “Ugly Betty” and “Two and a Half Men” will do just fine this go-round. “Heroes” might make out OK. So might “Friday Night Lights.” But what of “Battlestar Galactica” and “Veronica Mars” and “Rome” and “The Wire”? Can we assume that Emmy will treat these amazing series rather less well? The nominations get announced Thursday morning at 5:40 a.m. Pacific Time.
