Tonights episode was "Pete" Part One, so straight away you know you will have to watch next week to see what happens.

It's a pity the first episodes (which I understand were originally meant to be shown as a single episode were split in to three), as this two-parter seems to follow very quickly.

The best Red Dwarf episodes tend to be those that stand alone, however, this is not a bad episode and Mrs Hippo (and some friends) did quite enjoy it.

The real stars were Rimmer and Lister who prove again that they work so well together.

Highlights include :

- Cat remembering his first meeting with Mr Ackermann

- The basketball game, where the "cons" spike the drinks of the "wardens" so that they win, unfortunately Captain Holister drinks some too - so Rimmer and Lister are to spend two weeks peeling potatoes. Again Lister has a brainwave about making this easier, which of course backfires.

- The meal where Rimmer is eating punishment food (totally unidentifiable - possibly genetic experiments that went wrong) and one of the skutters brings Lister curry and lager.

- Rimmer and Lister running naked through the ship.

In this episode we see another attempt to speed up the prison sentence when Kryton, Cat and Chloe Annett come across the Temest - their good intentions toward an old man and his bird backfire and lead to Rimmer shouting "Follow the Rimmer-like blur", and that is how we leave them running off into the ship.

Hopefully next week will provide a satisfactory conclusion - as some multi-part stories tend to just be dragging out one story.

Thats all for now...

Mrs Hippo
