Well.... here's some interesting embellishments to the info we got yesterday from Monkey Boy... Thanks... Now if only the Incinerator or Sir Etch-A-Sketch could provide more!
A few people seem interested in the new Winnie the pooh movie so I thought I'd let you know that Disney is planning to take the franchise pretty seriously and has brought the Sherman Brothers (Richard and Robert) on board to do the songs for it. This is very good move. The Sherman Brothers were responsible for memorable songs from some Disney classics including The Jungle Book, Mary Poppins, The Parent Trap and That Darn Cat! They also contributed a song to My Fair Lady as well as the music for Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang.
As far as their Winnie the Pooh pedigree goes, they wrote the songs for 1966's Winne the Pooh and the Honey Tree, 1968's Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day and 1977's The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
They haven't done much since their songs for Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland in 1992 but the work on this new Winnie pic is great. They've penned a very funny song for Tigger in which he's bouncing around like a maniac singing happily about how there is only one Tigger.
