1st Paul Newman... Now Sean Connery Retires From Acting... Indy goes it alone!

Hey folks, Harry here... This just struck me as a sad bit of news. I've been being hit with the news that Sean Connery is not going to be in the 4th Indiana Jones film for a while now. I'm not all broke up about that. That wasn't the adventure I was hoping for this time out with Indy. No - what hit me is that the reason Connery isn't doing it, is that he's retiring from film, altogether. Just as Paul Newman recently decided to walk away from the silver screen. I suppose I admire their decision to simply enjoy the rest of their lives without the make-up and hot lights... without young whippersnappers telling them to drool on command. But dammit. I love these guys - and I love watching them on screen. They're part of the beautiful history of cinema and I prefer to see their aging performances - it's like staying in touch with an old friend. Suffice to say, they will be missed from our screens. Sean Connery is a presence, like very few others in film. Indy will get by fine without him, but movie theaters became a little more empty today with this announcement.
