Tom Hanks’ Playtone and HBO are close to teaming to turn Vincent Bugliosi’s 2007 book, “Reclaiming History: The Assassination of President John F. Kennedy,” into a 10-part miniseries, according to a report in Thursday morning’s Variety. The new book aims to debunk conspiracy theories and establish that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in murdering the president. Bugliosi won fame decades ago as the prosecutor in Charles Manson’s murder trial. Hanks has lots of other HBO projects in the works, including “Big Love” and the upcoming minis “John Adams” and “The Pacific.” Read all of Variety’s report on the matter here.
