The wave of insanity currently sweeping through Warner Bros continues with news that a script by Paul Sopocy has been optioned...with an eye towards bringing us a CGI THUNDERCATS movie! I used to love this show's kinetic title sequence:
Although, I never understood why Lion-O was calling the rest of the Thundercats "hos". Abusive bastard. Warner's closet of animated/comic-to-live action projects is quickly assuming Imelda Marcos proportions -- with TEEN TITANS, WONDER WOMAN, THE DARK KNIGHT, a SUPERMAN sequel, JUSTICE LEAGUE, HE MAN, SUPER MAX (a Green Arrow movie)and whatever else I'm forgetting already in the mix. If we're lucky, perhaps the animatronic (?) Snarf will be voiced by Bernie Mac. That would be grand.
Sopocy has written the script as an origin story expanding on the major heroes and villains from the animated series, with the plot focusing on Lion-O coming of age as the leader of the Thundercats.
