A CIVIL ACTION bits!!!!

Ol Henry Hull threw the following bit of news this away for all us film lovers to take a gander at. It concers A CIVIL ACTION, the Travolta flick filming up north (I guess this is kinda relative, but it is north of where I am... actually Northeast) Here's the report:

This info comes from the Worcester Telegram and Gazette, the daily newspaper for Worcester (the second largest city in New England) and Worcester County. Anyway, John Travolta and crew were doing some filming in the quaint town of Northbridge.

The front page of this morning's (12/2/97) paper shows the people of Northbridge out in the cold snapping some photos of Travolta as he poked his head out from the back seat of his limo, all smiles.

It turns out that Touchstone was using a local woman's old farmhouse as well as the Northbridge Auto Salvage Yard for some filming.

According to the story, the flick is about 8 families who sued two Woburn, Mass. manufacturers for dumping cancer-causing chemicals into the town's water supply. Travolta's character is Jan Schlictmann, the Boston lawyer who spent years with the case. One of the scenes filmed in the farmhouse shows Travolta hearing from a former employee about the pollution. it mentioned that they used big lights outside the house to make it look like a sunny day from the inside. It's been pretty cold and blustery lately around the area.

The people in the town were happy to meet Travolta and huddled around to catch a glimpse of him. Apparently, he "emerged" from his trailer and signed autographs for his fans. One picture shows a guy holding up his newest prized possessions, two signed record albums from John's movies.

Welp, that's all for now from "Woosta" County, MA.
