One of my absolute favorite scripts that I thought was going nowhere... seems to be moving on along. I think if memory serves that this has been downgraded (well if ya wanna be mean) to a television pic.... Personally I am still holding out for a theatrical release....
I'm a student studying abroad here in London. This is the first time I might have an actual scoop for you.
About a block from where I am staying in central London, a major film just started shooting. The production is titled 'RKO241.' After talking to an assitant director and location manager, I discovered it is a Orson Welles biopic about the controversy surrounding the making of 'Citizen Kane.'(RKO241 was the original production number of Kane) The film is being directed by Mark Ross, I believe. He has also directed the 'Young Poisoners Handbook.' Liev Schrieber(from Scream 1/2 & Phantoms) is playing Welles. Also on set were Roy Schneider, Fiona Shaw, and John Malkovich. Melanie Griffith is also in it but was not there the day I saw the filming. They were using the art deco interior of a building nearby for what the a.d. said was a scene where Welles is arguing to have the film released. The production was in its first week with seven more to go in London. All the characters were in period costumes and were filming at several locations in and around London. The supposed release date is Christmas. Liev was the only one who stopped to talk and he seemmed to be having a good time so far. I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the production company.
Hope this is useful...
