I frequently hear complaints from NYC area readers that we don’t show you guys enough love.
I wish we had a NYC branch. I really do. It just hasn’t worked out. I live in LA, and Harry lives in Austin, and Capone lives in Chicago, and we’ve just never really ended up with that NYC piece of the puzzle.
It means we miss out on a lot of events we’d love to cover, and it means we don’t throw a lot of screenings for you guys, either. And it is unfair. It’s just the way things have worked out, unfortunately.
So this coming Thursday night, April 26th, we’ve got something really cool for you to enjoy, something that very few other geeks in the US have had a chance to see yet.
I reviewed the film THE DEVIL DARED ME TO about a week and a half ago. It’s a really crazy, fucked-up comedy from New Zealand. And you’ve got a chance to check it out yourself. I am still not sure if I’m going to be able to make it to the screening or not. I’ll be in town next weekend, but I’m not sure when I arrive yet.
Fangoria and Tony Timpone will be co-presenting this screening, so I know it’s in capable hands if I’m not able to be there. But I want you guys to go. I want you to see this before anyone else. I want you to see it with the right kind of crowd. This is the sort of movie where you should imbibe whatever your particular poison is beforehand, you should gather your rowdiest friends, and you should get ready for violence and sex and mayhem, NZ-style.
Here are the details:

You guys say we never do anything for you. Well, let’s see what kind of crowd we can put together for this one. I’d love to be able to justify doing more NYC events, and I’d love to hear from all of you after you see this film. I’m confident you’ll enjoy yourself, and I hope I’m able to see you there.
