Time keeps on slipping into the future.
Tuesday night Adam Sandler filled in for David Letterman, who was under the weather. Sandler talked about turning 40. It all served to make me feel very old.
Now we have word that Calvert DeForest, who played Larry “Bud” Melman on Letterman’s show a quarter-century ago and many times thereafter, passed away Monday.
He was the first thing viewers saw when Letterman launched his nighttime NBC talk show in 1982.
