The First Review From Tonight’s AICN TMNT Event At The Alamo Is In!

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here. I think you’re going to hear from a lot of satisfied people here in the next few days, and I think even the talkbackers will be generally pleased by the movie. The only ones who won’t are people who want something dark and “hardcore” from a TURTLES adventure. This ain’t it. It’s a lot of fun, though, and I wish I could have taken Toshi to this event. I think he would have had a blast. Congrats to all you lucky bastards who did go:

Hi Harry, Thanks for letting me and the old lady join up for all you can eat pizza and Turtles. How do we keep these chicks again? TMNT!!! Let's keep it simple. If you hate the Turtles, you should go see this film just to support the director and the animators in their efforts to make Gatchaman as their next project. And then you should kill yourself for being a friggin' idiot. Who doesn't like the Turtles? If you even remotely dig the Turtles, this is far and away the best Turtles movie/cartoon to date. There are a few scenes that fall a bit flat, but over all this is a very enjoyable, amazingly well-animated film. WWLD Try his best not to treat Raph like Fredo in the Godfather WWRD Kick ass for the lord! WWMD Eat pizza, burp, give the biggest shout outs to the TMNT past and mythos. WWDD Do? Not so much? He's little more than window dressing here, but who cares. Gotta save something for the next movie. April wasn't fleshed out much either, but Casey and Splinter were totally what we were hoping for. I am a bit puzzled by the brief Laurence Fishburne turn as narrator. I felt it was miscast. I forgot to ask about that at the event. Kudos to Kevin Munroe. I had no idea until I imdb'd a minute ago that he did that craptastic videogame Freaky Flyers. You have made a fantastic leap, my friend! Kudos to like 8 bajillion geek animators in Hong Kong. Kudos to your mom. Kowabunga dudes! JJ
