More on SPIDER-MAN

Alright folks, yesterday I had some questions that... well just weren't answered in the pieces on "SPIDER-MAN" that hit the various trades. And in good form, the answers came. What is about to follow is 'the way it is' according to a very reliable source that I'll call... Piglet

According to Piglet, the thingee that was done on Monday gave Sony the rights to the James Cameron treatment. Piglet went on to say that while there is nothing on paper yet between Sony and Cameron, that Cameron's deal at Fox is such that if Cameron wanted to make SPIDER-MAN at Sony... well... he could. This is akin to Devlin talking with Fox about a second part of ID4. Viacom's legal arguement can not hold up a Sony production, as they claim to only have the rights to the TV broadcast. And lastly... Piglet said it would not be surprising to walk into a theater Summer 2001 and behold.... SPIDER-MAN across the silver screen.

So it seems as though everything is ready to go, and it's only a matter of time till Sony negotiates with 'Whatever' filmmaker they decide to go with, and that could very well be Cameron... if he's still attracted to the property.
