THE MUMMY wraps up a new director, but it'll be us who get our brains pulled out of our noses!!!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I'm not a big fan of the MUMMY movies, aside from the gratuitous hotness of Rachel Weisz. In a strange way I dug the cornball cheesy over the top cartoon of MUMMY RETURNS more than the limp, indecisive original film. At least MUMMY 2 knew what it wanted to be... a lame INDIANA JONES ripoff... and it went for it whole hog. Rob Cohen is the man Universal is trying to woo for MUMMY 3. Which is a good fitting for the franchise. XXX and STEALTH and DAYLIGHT... all over the top cheeseball movies. And I'd even go so far as to say that Cohen works with special effects better than Stephen Summers, although my soft spot for DEEP RISING knows no bounds. So there you have it. The franchise that won't die!
