A look at ENTRAPMENT

Here's a look at ENTRAPMENT.... Well, I have to go sleep now...

Long time reader, first time ever poster here and hopefully I'll do everything the right way.

Last night, I was told by my dear sainted mother that she had been given passes to a special test screening of the new Sean Connery movie. I immediately started dancing cause I knew what movie it was. While I couldn't remember the title till later I remembered three simple words: Catherine Zeta Jones.

Oh man, ever since viewing her in The Phantom I've been quite enamored of her, and very surprised to see that she seemed all but forgotten until Zorro. But thankfully she's back now and showing the world what they could had a couple of years earlier.

Oh yeah wait, Connery's in this movie too.(G) But we don't have to talk about him. He's Bond. Nothing left to say. If he doesn't do well, then the world is coming to an end.

Then of course we've got Ving Rhames in the movie, Mr. "Whatever part I do for a movie ALWAYS raises the level of intensity about twenty notches!" Suffice it to say, he got a good role in this one.

Now of course, the movie is called Entrapment for those who are still wondering and it deals with theives, the lives they lead, and in an attempt to be as topical as they can be, they base this stuff around the upcoming new millenium as we head into the year 2000.

People, people people, when are you going to learn that the actual millenium doesn't begin until 2001? So in the immortal words of Al Franken, "Everybody just stay home and relax that night."

Now, the movie itself is a real blast. Connery plays an world class thief who loves to steal and leave his own personal type of signature on the items he stole. Catherine plays an insurance agent enamored with Mr. Connery and decides to set up a trap to finally arrest him using herself as the bait.

Now I don't wanna get too heavy spoilerish with this stuff and if I do, I'm sure Harry will make whatever appropriate corrections he needs to. But I will say that there are some major plot twists in this movie that I was not expecting. My jaw actually hit the floor a good once or twice when said device showed up on the screen.

The acting on everyone's part is extremely top notch, with everyone preforming above and beyond the call of duty. The stunts are extremely realistic, although I did find myself wondering how someone Connery's age could be getting into all this trouble?

But he's Bond, let him do what he wants.

The NRG guys had said that the movie probably had some editing still do to and the music was a temp score but I'll tell you, the music sounded just right to me. This movie didn't even look like it needed a single edit at all. DON'T CHANGE A THING GUYS!

I did have one major quibble with the movie. Too many times they kept making close ups of Catherine's behind(will not use that three letter word when talking about her). Sure, it's wonderful to look at, but I don't think we need so many close ups. You guys will get to see how.........athletic Catherine is in the movie. And you'll all know what scene I'm talking about with that one when you see it.

So all in all, GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!! See it for the action, for the plot twists, for Sean, for Ving, and definitely for Catherine.
