Ahoy, squirts! Quint here! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I couldn't just post the depressing Christmas news from this morning and leave it at that. I've also got a little something that'll cheer some of you up and have others heatedly saying the below is equal to Batman's nipples or something. Either way, it'll make for a fun Christmas afternoon. The good folks at TFW2005 got an early scan from Empire Magazine's upcoming Transformers cover with Optimus Prime standing tall... It must have been really cold during the shooting of the cover... he's got a serious case of headlights going on if you know what I'm talking about... suckers are blinding... Paramount, Dreamworks, Bay or Spielberg... whoever decided on pushing Prime... is making a smart move. He is Transformers to many people and he's also the only design that is immediately recognizable from the cartoon. The trailer was pretty damn kick-ass... can't believe Aaron from 24 popped up in there... and the more I see I become at once saddened and excited. My theory from the sets and preproduction meeting with Bay seems to be coming true. It looks like we're in for a helluva fun giant robots run amuck popcorn action Michael Bay film, with the barest of hints of recognition from the cartoon. However, that's all just based on the glimpses in the trailers... the visuals. If we see these robots actually acting like the ones we know and love, see their characters transfer over, then we could all be in for a pleasant surprise July 4th weekend.
