Hey there, folks. Quint here with the sad duty of putting down a few words for Mr. Joseph Barbera (pictured below, on the right). He was one half of a thread that connected at least 3 or generations. With William Hanna, he formed Hanna-Barbera, which made all the Tom and Jerry cartoons, as well as The Flinstones, Johnny Quest, The Jetsons and Yogi Bear to name a few. My parents grew up with these cartoons. I grew up with these cartoons, as did my little brother (10 years younger, a '90s child). I believe the work done by Joe Barbera will live for many more generations to come. I particularly loved Tom and Jerry, but the Hanna-Barbera stamp was always a guarantee of quality. The duo won 7 Academy Awards (nominated 14 times) for their theatrical short cartoon work. William Hana died in 2001. Mr. Barbera died of natural causes in his home, his wife by his side. My thoughts are with Mr. Barbera's friends, family and fans.
