Entertainment Weekly’s Jeff Jensen chatted up “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” mastermind Joss Whedon about what’s in store for the “season eight” version of the character he’s bringing to Dark Horse Comics in March.
Among other things, we learn that Ms. Summers has, since the collapse of Sunnydale (and its hellmouth), organized a “slayer school” - and that Whedon will incorporate some of the ideas originally developed for the Buffy-free “Slayer School” spin-off he was contemplating for UPN.
“There will be some new slayers that you'll meet, and by the second issue, you'll find out there are different camps across the world being run by various characters that fans will know,” Whedon tells Jensen. “The comic focuses a lot on this new generation of slayers — the problems they will face, and the problems they will cause.”
Whedon also reveals that her surviving former sidekicks – presumably Giles, Willow, One-Eye and other Scoobs - will be re-introduced to Buffy’s world gradually as the series wears on.
