John Woo is STILL directing MISSION IMPOSSIBLE II, plus that Cruise rumor with LOCK, STOCK...

I have received multiple confirmations today about the status of John Woo and MISSION IMPOSSIBLE II. The gang over at Coming Attractions had posted a rumor on February 8th saying that John Woo 'MAY' be exiting off of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE II. Since that posting I've been getting fairly consistent panicy emails from fans that really really were concerned as they had their hopes up for a John Woo directed Mission Impossible film. I've been trying to find out one way or another about what's going on with the film for over a week now, and found out today that John Woo is STILL directing MISSION IMPOSSIBLE II. The people I've talked to say that he was never considering leaving, yadda yadda yadda... So take a breath.... Woo will rock our world... Now if only we had a clue what the hell is happening in the film, our world would be a bit more in tune. (I'm still working on this)
As for the rumors about Tom Cruise and LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS... well they are true... to a degree. Cruise has bought the rights to a remake of LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS, but there is no guarantee what he'll do with those rights. Like a lot of us blokes that have seen this fan-fucking-tastic film, Cruise is apparently a drooling fanboy over it. We heard this a week or two ago here at AICN with the rumor that our man BIG CHRIS in LS&TSB was up for a role in MI2. All we know is Cruise has the rights. There are NO talks that anybody knows about concering directors, no talks about hiring a screenwriter yet, no talks about casting.... Nothing... Just that Cruise optioned the rights. After this film is released in the USA and becomes a huge cult hit... IT WILL... That will probably put a stop to any remake talks... if not, I and I think a lot of LS&TSB fans here at AICN will continue to scream that it is a terrible friggin idea worth of plankton dung...
