Dear lord, this is just super duper cool. It seems that according to Variety and their DISH column has heard that SAMUEL L JACKSON is now the man in the black leather jacket, well technically he's still in negotiations, but it looks like it's firming up.

SAM, our man, JACKSON is my personal pic for coolest human walking the earth, and playing SHAFT for John Singleton is just the shit man. They're talking about a summer start date, Richard Price has been doing the scribe work on the flick. But folks... This has been the hard ass that Sam Jackson has been working up to.

Hell... he'll inevitably make Mel Gibson's Porter look like a cream puff, he'll make Russell Crowe's BUD look like a rookie beat cop. And then... can you imagine the soundtrack.... God... it could just ROCK... Can you imagine a cool groove beat by the ol jazzy Johnny Williams, who worked his magic on ROSEWOOD. Well.... hell... I'm excited... I just want to see Sam swing through a window blasting away with a machine gun, and I hope it has the coolest trailer ever.... It deserves it.
