I just wanted to draw your attention to a little film called Election, which MTV Productions is currently shooting in L.A. It's based on the novel by Tom Perrotta about an overly-ambitious Lolita running for school president. I know this isn't the kind of project you usually hype, but trust me: it's most definitely cool. I have nothing to do with it, but I have read the script, and if all goes well this could be the best high school satire since Heathers. No explosions, but explosively funny, sexy, and subversive (hopefully Paramount will let them get away with everything in the script). It's directed and co-written by Alexander Payne (who also did Citizen Ruth), and stars Matthew Broderick, Reese Witherspoon, and Thora Birch. Keep an eye out for it.
