The trailer demonstrates every shortcoming in the current slate of marginally produced, unimaginatively rendered CGI fair (MONSTER HOUSE is not included on this shit list).
The idea here is apparently to do an irreverent riff on well established fairly tale conceits. Sigh. [SEE BELOW]
HAPPILY N’EVER AFTER features voice work from Sarah Michelle Gellar, George Carlin, Sigourney Weaver, Freddie Prinze Jr. (seeming alive than usual via CGI), Andy Dick, and Wallace Shawn.
Speaking of irreverent riffs on well established fairly tale conceits…
DreamWorks is saying that SHREK 4 will hit theaters sometime in 2010. The PUSS IN BOOTS movie (spinning off the Antonio Banderas character from SHREK 2 and the forthcoming SHREK THE THIRD)…once slated as a direct-to-DVD title…has been promoted to theatrical release – sometime after SHREK 4
I.e. sometime after 2010!?!?
That’s some long term franchising there. No escape in sight, I guess.
