Hollywood Reporter says that U2's Vertigo tour has been / is being shot for 3-D theatrical release, probably late next year. Hopefully, the U2 3-D effort will shake out better than their previous RATTLE AND HUM...a film that, while never miserable, never completely hit the mark for me either. Plans are to release the new film in theaters already equipped with Real D technology...which is currently being used to screen Tim Burton's NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS IN DISNEY DIGITAL 3D. Before its release, directors Catherine Owens and Mark Pellington will reduce 700 hours of footage to feature length. And I thought my kid's math homework was a bitch...
