Here is what I've heard is going to SUNDANCE this year so far. Lotsa little birdies told me. Sing you song birds sing!!!
Todd Phillips documentary entitled FRATS. Now far be from me to take a guess, but I think this is going to be about... Frats as in fraternal organizations. This has a chance of being A)brutal B)funny as hell C)pathetic or D)all the others. I love documentaries so I hope Sundance gets a bunch!!!
Then there is that film about James Whale called GODS AND MONSTERS. It stars Ian McKellan (msp?) as James Whale. Who is James Whale? I rip off your geek stripes young soul. Oh how it pains me. James Whale is the GENIUS that brought us the Boris Karloff classics FRANKENSTEIN and BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN. And they have done everything from rebuild the Bride of Frankenstein sets for an eerie dream/nightmare sequence to having an actress play Elsa Lancaster after all the monster demands a mate!!! Oh yeah in case you don't know this is by Bill Condon (Candyman 2: Farewell to the Flesh) and is produced by Clive (I write damn good horror novels) Barker. It will be in the American Spectrum division.
First time director Manuel Prodal is bringing his MARIE to Sundance, and I have heard zero about this flick.
Also Wonsuk Chin's "TOO TIED TO DIE", now I wonder if that's suppose to be "tired", oh well, tis the spelling of the informant. I bet it is. This one is in the American Showcase division. And I like the title which ever it may be.
Then WHATEVER, which Susan Skoog (the director) already found a distributor for in Sony Classics, if memory serves.
