Well, now that we have firmly established that "kid's" story, I wish he'd right again, or maybe his mom choked him to death.... Hmmmmmm.... Well, here ya go, not much, but it seems that they are busy casting away....
Not exactly news, but today I was driving down Olympic Boulevard and thought that I might check out the address that had been given in a recent-ish story as the LA casting HQ for LOTR. While the details of the casting sheets given seemed to have an authentic ring about them, the 'young kid' ramblings that accompanied it and the lack of a follow-up to supplement the information given made me somewhat skeptical.
However, to my delight, when I poked my head into Victory Burrows casting office, there were folders labeled 'Hobbits', 'Aragorn', etc. and a busy staff was up to their ears with phone calls, kindly taking a moment to respond to my redundant query that, "Yes, we're casting 'Lord of the Rings'." Oddly enough, there were a few images hung up on the walls and a chart of the nine members of the fellowship displayed on the door, that featured the animated characters from the Bakshi animated film... Perhaps these are provided courtesy of Saul Zaentz to 'spiff up' the place, or are being utilized as a quick visual means of identifying folders and info relating to different characters and types.
Anyway, I just was there for a minute or so, but hope to return with a couple of actor/actress friends of mine, as they pitch themselves as candidates for some of the roles.
