A lonely lass has filed a report on 2 qurky little films with FATHER GEEK this morning, a lovely lady with some interesting info.
Saw a screening of AMERICAN PIE this week, and it was the most hilarious thing I've seen in just about forever. This is a little movie in the vein of, say, PORKY'S meets CLUELESS, with no recognizable cast (you can bet that there will be some new stars out of it, though). Oops, except for Eugene Levy, who plays the caring dad from hell and is soooo funny. Raunchy? You bet -- apparently they had to go back to the ratings board 4 times just to get from an NC-17 to an R! The amazing thing is, despite the raunch the movie is really very charming and sweet. I'm not going to tell you any of the plot or funny bits, because I don't believe in spoilers, but everything really pays off in a hilarious way. If you see the trailer you will get a taste... Supposedly they're going to release this the week after Phantom Menace.
You listed HOW TO EAT FRIED WORMS as a project you were hunting for info on...it was developed at Universal, but they put it into turnaround and it is being produced for Nickelodeon Films. It's about a boy who moves to a new town and, in a bid to make friends, makes a bet that he'll eat fifteen worms. (Eating worms becomes a metaphor for those times in life where we have to do things that we don't want to in order to get ahead, and whether it's worth it in the end.) Hijinx ensue. There was a really cool water balloon/water gun war in the script, but I don't know if it made it to the final version. Garbo
