Well, here you folks go... the kitchen sink of Horror Sequel Updates!!! All I can say is that I hope they are good. I really really do. We need some really good Horror films, and with the A-List THE MUMMY and THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE... it's an exciting year already. We'll see...
Through various contacts of mine, i was able to aquire some interesting info on a buttload of horror sequels coming our way this year. First off, I was told that Doug Arniakokski (A.D. of From Dusk Till Dawn) has been signed to direct Hellraiser V, written by Michael Lent, for Dimension. I have no details on the plot just yet, stay tuned. Dimension will also bring us Prophecy III, directed by Scream editer Patrick Lussier. SOTA EFX will handle the make up and Christopher Walken will reprise the role of Gabriel. The long awaited Freddy Vs. Jason project is tenatively titled Millenium Massacre (Come on New Line, you can do better than that!) The script will feature characters from previous Nightmare and Friday films. Filming starts in early Feb, and the Tommy Jarvis character plays an integral role. If thats not enough, rumors abound that Kane Hodder has signed to do a tenth installment of the Friday franchise due to be released on the original's 20th anniversary. Steve Miner was approached to direct, but apparently turned it down. George Romero told EGM that he will be writing the 3rd Tales >From the Crypt picture. And finally, Rutger Hauer is heavilly involved in a Hitcher sequel (Info from Variety). Filming should commence soon.
