An interesting note for FOX I dreamed up

Eeeeeek, more Cameron-y news. I have been getting reports through my literary sources, yes, I do read from time to time, that there is a big ol trillion page making of coffee table type a book for TITANIC. Well, Cool right? Right. Well on top of that something cool caught my eye about this book. It's being put together by an Ed Marsh fella. Who the hell is Ed Marsh? A reasonable query. Well all the Cameron Deluxo-Spectacular-Mega- Edition Laserdisc fans love and cherish the ABYSS disc, that has the cool tidal wave, and extra coolness, right? Right. Well, my personal fave feature was that documentary called something like, "Pressure: Making The Abyss" or something like that. Glen has the Laserdisc, not me. (I not have a disc player, it's why I live at Glen's house half the time) Well to get to the point that Marsh fella did the making of on THE ABYSS.

What was extraordinary about that "making of" is that it wasn't your typical blow sweet nothings up the publicists sun don't shine location. Nope. It was a pretty much honest look at the trials and troubles of making THE ABYSS, warts and all.

So, is there gonna be one on TITANIC? I certainly hope so. Surely if Marsh was running around working on that book and taking notes, he had a camera. And they did goofy stuff like that big ol time lapse building of the Titanic ship (which you can get on the Titanic site) Now, I don't know if footage exists, though knowing Cameron films I bet there is, there should be excellent material to do a big ol Making of TITANIC, for either a video release or (my preference) Fox Television. I mean come on! Ya gotta let us see the scale and care that went into making this film. Ya have to make the audiences understand why this film took so long, and cost so much.

I don't know the length of time it would take to assemble whatever material there is for a 30 minute to an hour long special, but I know with out a doubt, I would tune in for it. Especially if it had the craftsmanship that was in that Abyss one. There's alot of info there, and didn't some Bravo Titanic TV special pull in a massive audience back in May or something? Let's see a big ol TV special! Educate people why they should see TITANIC instead of AMISTAD or TOMORROW NEVER DIES. Though personally I'm gonna try to see all three that day. I have a super butt for the job!!! Just a thought! It's probably more likely that Miles Dyson will contact me at the OMNI hotel this week in LA while I'm there and take me to Cyberdine, or maybe let me talk about artificial intelligence (ie Me). Though is would be cool if Miles did reach me, I have to warn him about a psycho that escaped a mental asylum.
