Well folks, here's a project that Travolta has been wanting to get up off the ground for what seems like decades, well... now it seems he's up and gone location scouting. There is definately some ripe material to turn into a gigantic Science Fiction movie, and didn't we hear that the 2nd Unit Director on STAR WARS EPISODE ONE had landed this assignment? Well... looks like the project is moving forward.
I've been a long time reader and fan of yours but, living in Quebec City, I don't come across many movie scoops so I've never written in. So when I came accros this peice of news I hadn't seen anywhere before in a local newspaper, I thought this could finaly be my chance.
According to La Presse (a local newspaper), John Travolta himself was location scouting for the movie Battlefeild Earth movie in Montreal last week. Always according to this article on the popularity of the city as a shooting location for Hollywood filmmakers, he is going the personnaly finance the adaptation of the book by Ron Hubbart, the founder of the church of scientology which Travolta is a proud member of. It is also reported that the budget is now up to 80M$ and that the artistic director is going to be the frenchman Patrick Tatopoulos who worked on such blockbusters as Independance Day and Godzilla (let's just hope it's gonna look better than that).
