Ok folks. We all excited about TITANIC right? Right. Now what's Cameron gonna do next. Jesus, I'm tired of this question and the answers. This week I got more "straight from the source info". My reaction? MAKE SPIDERMAN!!!!!!!!! I'm tired, the fans are tired. Studios buy off who ever is standing in the way and get us Spiderman. Now, I would like to see a James Cameron Presents "Anne Rice's THE MUMMY" film, but AFTER SPIDERMAN. I would also like to see a Terminator 3 and True Lies 2 and Avatar, but AFTER SPIDERMAN. WHY? Because I'm fat. I figure my heart has a good 5 years of ticks left in it. I want to see SPIDERMAN. I really do. If you are standing in the way of this project, may hail stones the size of that damn asteroid in Armageddon pile down upon your head!!! I want SPIDERMAN, everyone I know ( AND I KNOW ALOT OF PEOPLE ) wants to see a SPIDERMAN movie, and all these people ( and there's alot of them ) are tired of waiting for it. I remember when Cannon films took out a two page ad in VARIETY back in 1986 I believe (RoboGeek's memory may be off on this one) and I was fired up. Now it's 1997 and we're talking about a Mummy movie. GIVE ME SPIDERMAN. GIVE THE FANS SPIDERMAN. MGM make it happen. Get off your rears, let Sony do their Bond film, and move on to SPIDERMAN it is the future of your company.
Here's that dang cool news about Anne Rice and James Cameron, sorry for the rant, I couldn't help it, it was a kneejerk kinda impulse, I'm sorry. I'm soooooo sorry. NO I'M NOT, I'M NOT SORRY (*obscure Cheech and Chong, Pee Wee Herman reference)
Anyway, we came across info from you site regarding Anne Rice, that she had announced James Cameron working on 'The Mummy, or Ramses The Damned'. We went right to the source and asked Anne Rice directly on 11/9/97 at a Connecticut book signing for her new novel 'Violin' about the rumor, which she confirmed. How close to production is the film? Is the screenplay finished already? What she told us was that Cameron had called her to tell her that it was his 'next' project - he had begun writing the script shortly after completing work on Titanic. She was pleased with his work, referring to him as "wonderful...intense and determined...a Superdirector". I just thought your readers would be interested in the information.
