About that Radio Station Rumored Delay of STAR WARS EPISODE ONE...

Hey folks, this is a preemptive notice about a RUMOR that started on some Radio Stations around the country today. Look at that word "RUMOR" again... First off, do you think that a delay would be announced straight to Radio Stations and not be on ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT, your local NEWS STATIONS, the COVER of VARIETY and HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, the STARWARS.COM website, etc? Be calm.... This is one, of about 200 panicked and frightened emails, that I received today.... Read it and I'll explain afterwards...

DJ's in the Philly area reported today that the release date of THE PHANTOM MENACE has been pushed back to the Fourth of July!! I almost had a heart attack when I heard it. Being an original Star Wars fan who has been waiting for this for my entire lifetime, this news sucks more than anything has ever sucked before. If it's true, I bet Warner Brothers just shit themselves now that WIll Smith's little ditty just was doomed to failure.

First off, this probably originated from someone reading that there was so many effects shots still incomplete on that 'Hitchcock' posting, and it quickly escalated to this RUMOR. Remember, Hitchcock said it would take an act of GOD to delay this film.... Has Fiery Hail started falling from the skies? Has water turned to blood? What about it huh? Sure Jerry Falwell announced the anti-christ was already amongst us the other day, but did he mention a plague of Locusts? A burning bush? How about anybody turning into a pillar of salt? Has California fallen into the ocean? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! It hasn't.

Until you see this news as the TOP STORY on STARWARS.COM don't believe a word of it. If it were true... that's where we would hear it first. Ok? Be calm... don't be afraid. The marketing campaign is set in stone, crossed between several GIGANTIC CORPORATIONS, the tremor that this news would cause across the industry would be GIGANTIC. It wouldn't slooooowly seep out, there would be a humongous press conference. Have faith... we haven't got much longer...
