Confirmation, of sorts, on the X-MEN greenlight...

With the statement from Tom Rothman, “And with 'The Beach' and 'X-Men,' and Baz's movie starting up soon, he will have a very busy next year," in The Hollywood Reporter today... well it seems that the project is indeed moving forward as Bryan Singer mentioned to our guy at the CLOSE ENCOUNTERS screening in the Cinerama Dome recently. The above quote was about the promoting of Peter Rice from senior vp to executive vp at 20th Century Fox. Usually this is sort of ‘dry’ news, but Rice tends to shepard pretty cool projects up the ladder, so it is good news, especially for X-MEN.

Also, and this is in the rumor category, the word is that Patrick Stewart is about as close as someone can get to putting pen to paper with playing Professor X in this movie. Keep your fingers crossed X-fans, perhaps we’ll get that Marvel film we’ve been waiting for...
