A Review (of sorts) of STAR WARS EPISODE ONE, this time not from a LIMO Driver!!!

Ahhhhh, Boy did some of you get upset of the Limo story. Sheesh, since that story was NOOOOOOOOOOOT TRUUUUUUUUUE, I'm doing a follow up just to annoy you. Hahahahahahah! Why? Because I can. And because it happens to be TRUE! Nah na na NAH NAAAAAAAH NAAAAAAAH! I am, what some would call, very very mature. First off, over at THEFORCE.NET Brian Linder (aka Geek #3) posted this up...

Lucas Screens TPM for Friends & Associates

Some of you may have noticed a story today on Ain't It Cool News that Lucas recently screened Episode I for his friends. We recently got confirmation of this from an informant. The screening did take place some time last week. Steven Spielberg, Larry Kasdan, and others friends of Mr. Lucas' ere in attendance. Spielberg actually suggested a couple of changes, but it's not known if Lucas will attempt to implement them.

Wow... Imagine that, confirmation on a Limo Driver story. SHOCK GASP!!! Well sheesh, folks, of course people talk to their Limo Drivers. I have talked to every 'driver' I've ever had. When in a moving vehicle, to take your mind off of CRASHING and METAL PIERCING YOUR BODY IN A NON-SEXUAL WAY one often engages in the act of conversing with a fellow human being.... YES, Limo Drivers are fellow human beings. Now I know what some of you are thinking, "Yeah Harry, but Famous People with Lucas' trust wouldn't talk to Limo Drivers." Wrong... Famous people talk to not only... Limo Drivers BUT, to Barbers, Druggest (especially Druggest), Cooks, Waiters, Doctors, their Next Door Neighbors, Folks on the Street, the Pizza Delivery Man, and their local Video and LaserDisc shops as well. Sooooooooooo, as if to illustrate this, I will bring you one such review via an overheard conversation from a SHOPPER at a Video Store. Now sure, you can dismiss this as being total rubbish and beneath me, but I vouch 100% for this story, cause I have disguised it from what was sent in via source as well as the person that was giving the information. BUT I KNOW WHO EVERYONE IS!!!! So believe it.... or not True Believers, here's the story.....

I'm an avid reader of your site and I have some info for you. I was shopping at a DVD/LD store in Studio City that is frequented by many studio people. I have met quite a bit of people there while perusing the foreign import laser disc and dvd sections. Just the other day, I saw one famous director (DELETED BY HARRY) that was talking to a whole gaggle of video store geeks and workers that he had seen the prequel over the weekend...and that he thought it was great! Your info about Kasdan, Darabont, Spielberg Howard, etc. etc. being there to see it is accurate as "Hitchcock" (Harry's name for the Director) said the same thing. The only info he revealed was this:

480 effects shots still needed to be completed, which is a large task!! I heard one of the clerks ask him if George spoke of any release delays, and he said that it would take an act of God for the film to miss the May 21st date!

He said Jake Lloyd was pretty good. He also said that there was only one, from the group, who didn't like him...everyone else felt he was good.

He also felt that Ewan was a bit heavy handed in his Obi Wan portrayal..a little stiff he said...like he was feeling the weight of living up to Guiness....on the other hand he said that Neeson, Portman, et al were terriffic! Then went on to say who gives a fuck about any of that, we don't see a Star Wars film for the fucking acting! He also stated that Darth Maul is the baddest fucking character ever in film and that the saber fights will blow your socks off!

All in all he was extremely satisifed with the pic! He said that it isn't the greatest movie ever, but he felt that as far as the series goes it could stand shoulder to shoulder with Empire Strikes Back!!!!!! That the film is adult oriented and not kiddie like Jedi. Definitely good news, eh? "Hitchcock" also said that he was astounded and amazed with what george was able to pull of and bring to the screen.

All in all, I was quite excited to hear this, Hitchcock seemed possessed as he was spilling forth with enthusiasm. I instantly went home and told all my friends the news... "Shoulder to Shoulder with EMPIRE STRIKES BACK" and listened as their heads hit the kitchen floor. God, I love living the life of a USC Film geek here in L.A. Hopefully Mr Maltin will be spilling the beans soon, I know George is gonna show him the movie, and I'll have the burning cigarette buds to stab in his arm till I get the truth out of him!!! God, it's only 120 some odd days till our heads explode!

Geez folks, it's ok to pass out now! As for you non-believers.... Go Eat Cake!
