Hello folks, Harry here, and currently I am back online, yippee! Well, I know this film opened on Friday, but... Thanks to the FANTASTIC job of keeping this movie a secret that UNIVERSAL did... Apparently not many people found out about it. We only heard from a couple of test screenings, their website kicks ass, but their trailers sucked, as do their print ads. Then they didn't have critic screenings or promotional radio screenings... so pretty much in newspapers across the country... the film was ignored. Why? Does it suck ass? I do not know. I was all set to see it this Friday when hell came to visit my internet abilities and I spent the rest of the day trying to get it figured out. Then on Saturday and Sunday more hell came down on me, and today I've been trying to catch up on the emails and everything... BUT tomorrow I'll be seeing the movie. Until then you have Buckwheat's review here, and the folks in TALK BACK below that have seen it. I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as Buckwheat... Oh, and UNIVERSAL.... WAKE UP!!!
I've noticed there's hardly any mention of this movie on your site, and since I liked it here's a little review, because I think lots of your readers will like it if they knew about it.

A mixed salad of the tried and true, done well.
Right off the bat let me say this: You won't see anything original in "Virus". The movie is a shameless rip-off of many of the movies and concepts we have grown up to know and love....but!.....it is a rip-off of extraordinary quality! This movie is like an old wooden roller coaster - you know exactly what's in store for you - but you love it anyways!
Take a good measure of Alien (and the sequels) remove the Aliens and add a Borg (StarTrek) creature. Take away the "space" from "space-ship" and you've got the setting. Finally gently remove Sigorney and add Jamie Lee. Then take the remaining parts and toss them gently and now you have successfully transformed Aliens into Virus.
Now, generally speaking you'd think that this would be a horrid Frankenstein-like creature, an abomination, but it's not. It's good! No, really, its good. All the fun that you experienced in the first two Alien movies is here. The mood is dark, the action non-stop and the adrenaline rush is real! Now, believe me, I thought like most people that we're in for a stinker here, and when the similarities to the other movies became glaringly obvious I was sure that I'd hate it, but I didn't.....I had fun! You will have fun too. It would be a shame if no one saw this movie, because we haven't had anything like this for quite some time.
So, take off your thinking caps, and go see Virus on cheapie day and you'll get you money's worth of entertainment. I did.
Buckwheat
