Ok folks, here is a project that I'm dying to hear anything and everything that is going on with it. So fill me in, ok? Groovy.
Thought you might like some insider information on this Dreamwork project slated to be their Christmas release of '99. I guess you know Harold Ramis is directing. Debra Zane (Get Shorty) is casting director, the A-team of George Lucas' Industrial Lite Magic is scheduled to do special effects, Mark Johnson is producing and Linda DeScena is Production Designer.
The original script (Captain Starshine) is written by David Howard. The re-write is by Robert Gordon. The basic plot-line is Aliens come to earth looking for a leader to save their planet. They kidnap the equivalent of Captain Kirk, but are disappointed to find out he's William Shatner, only an actor. So, they actor and his "crew" try their hands at real intergalactic battle! It's going to be around $50-&70 million budget. Should be fun! I think they'll have the lead cast soon
