Phil Alden Robinson ousted from 13 DAYS reportedly

Well, on normal circumstances this would be sad news. You see Phil Alden Robinson has been shown the exit door on the Sony and Kevin Costner project 13 DAYS. Word came in that Phil was astoundingly displeased with the script, and took a pass at it his own self. According to those whispers from Kevin's cabana... Phil's draft was.... ummmm... nowhere near as good as the fantastic draft that David Self turned in. Word heard round the regular channels says that Phil wanted Jackie O to play a part in things as well as some sort of Kennedy Football thing. While these things are just 'rumored' to have been considered by Phil.... If the rumors are true then I say GOOD RIDDANCE to the man. This is a film about the 13 DAYS of the Cuban Missle Crisis. There is no place for football, Jackie O or hell... even Marilyn in the closet. The script was tight as could be, and I still hold it was the only script I've read for projects this year that could've given THE GREEN MILE a run for the golden bald dude. (Of course, that's just out of the scripts I've read) I guess it's the film that will give Zemeckis and Hanks' CASTAWAY a run for it during the 2001 Oscars. Apparently Kevin Costner is who gave Phil his walking papers, that is if you believe the electronic bugs at Costner's cabana that is....
