FATHER GEEK reporting in with news of some Film Festival calls for entries. Some of these are for videos, others for Super 8mm, and still others for real honest to God full length 16mm & 35mm features. These festivals want Shorts, Animation, Documentaries, Comedy, and Drama. Some of these events even allow for FREE submissions, WOW! If you're an aspiring film maker with something finished, languishing in a can on a closet shelf or in the back of your icebox, send it in to one (or more) of these events. (True Story: A good friend of ours finished his/her 1st feature length film on 16mm. Insecure about acceptance of the project by his/her peers the only copy of the completed film sat loved, but unseen, carefully stored away in his/her refrigerator. Time went by, the fridge shorted out, and the film burned up! Sad, but true.) Let people see your work, get discovered, attract financial backing and make bigger and better movies for all of us to enjoy. If nothing's finished, get on the stick, wrap it up, and enter it before these deadlines. It could just change your life, and the rest of ours to boot. Don't be afraid of rejection, its part of the process, even big time established film makers have to face it from time to time. (or is that most of the time?) One thing is for sure, you will get nowhere without trying. AICN's very own Tom Joad and Annette Kellerman have just finished up and entered their 1st effort. Join them in the adventure.
