MUPPETS IN SPACE set report

This came from a pair of eyes on a bit of cloth on the set of MUPPETS IN SPACE. Personally, I think it would be coolest thing on the earth to visit a Muppets set. All the sets are built so that puppet folks can be under them or above them making them go. That'd be too cool to watch. I saw the making of MEET THE FEEBLES not too long ago and Peter Jackson said he got so used to talking directly to the puppets that it was kinda creepy. But sheesh it'd be a blast. I'm excited about this Muppet adventure how about you folks?

I just got back from the set of "Muppets From Space," and I must say, my faith in the franchise and a viable entity remains intact.

The film centers around the "identity crisis" of Gonzo, who comes to believe that he comes from a race of aliens.

Although little of the story arc could be gleaned from my short visit, I can tell you that the film we be chock full of cameos from Muppet Show and Muppets Tonight characters, including some we haven't seen in ahwile.

The set design and cinematography on this film are astoundingly beautiful with the requisite "Muppety" feel. A huge departure in both tone and style for this film also comes from the soundtrack, which doesn't seem to contain any production numbers, but instead is meant to have a "funk" feel, containing such songs as "Brick House" and "Celebration."

Keep an eye out for particularly hilarious performances from Dave Goelz (Gonzo), Steve Whitmire (Rizzo), and Bill Barretta (Pepe the Prawn).
