...with an odd little piece that I can neither explain or contextualize. Therefore, I don't know what to say - and I can't personally vouch for this at the moment.
JELLOBOY sent in a copy of the following FAX, which he says Disney Home Video transmitted to retailers this morning. Jelloboy says he was able to gleen no further information as to why Disney sent this FAX, or what circumstances have prompted the apparent recall of the video title mentioned below.
I have cut-and-paste only the significant part of the FAX. The rest of the FAX had some people's names on it (contact information and so-forth for Disney folks) - which I have omitted for obvious reasons.
I thought this might be of interest, and a fun source of conjecture until a more official statement is made.

Disney is recalling all copies of item # XXXXXXX The Rescuers VHS

This product recall is due to questionable material that should not be on the video cassette.
It is imperative that all products be pull from the floor immediately, and no more units be sold.
Product should leave the warehouse immediately.
