So much info it's not even funny! Projects I'm looking for further info on.... Part One!

Hey folks, Harry here... I’ve been working on this list something fierce for the last week or so. I am going to admit, right up front that it is nowhere near complete, in fact, it’s pretty darn incomplete, but I’m doing my darnedest to get it where it needs to be. What is it? It’s a list and bit of info, on the projects I’m wanting further information on. And of course, this means this is your list. If you don’t see your fave or least fave project listed with a similar amount of info, then send it in. This list will become a permanent addition to the front page, taking the place of my horribly bad taste B-Day plea. But basically, if you know anything more about the following projects, then let me know. I’m dying to hear what you folks think and know!

20th CENTURY FOX

Star Wars Episode One, Two and Three

(Coolness Personified)

Just about everything we need and want to know about Star Wars Episode One, with the exception of reviews from seeing the film, has been covered. So let’s begin to turn our eye to Australia, and the upcoming casting of the Second film, the plot, the concepts, the clone wars... all of that.

X-Men

Cast: Ben Stiller;

Based on the comic book DARK TOWN, it’s about what happens and where ya go when you end up in a Coma. The script is a blast.

Die Hard 4

(Sequel to... well you know)

The Castaway

(Drama)
(Start Jan.)
Cast: Tom Hanks;

With a cast like this, who wouldn’t be into it. But what I want to know, is when is someone going to do a badass adaptation of THE TEMPEST?

Entrapment

(Nailbiting Action film)
Wrapped
Cast: Sean Connery, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Ving Rhames, Will Patton

FOOD

(Comedy)
Prd., Jan De Bont

The film is a holiday tale about inanimate objects coming to life, mixed with live action a la WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT? It is told from the view point of the food for Christmas dinner. The main character's a pea, and one of the other charaters is a piece of Wedding Cake from the seventies that's been stuck in the freezer since the couple got married.

It’s been in the talks for the better part of the last year, so as it begins to move forward, let’s hear reports on this one!

The Crowded Room

(Drama)
Dir., F Gary Grey
Scr., James Cameron
This film has been in the works for the last 7 or so years. The script is pretty powerful stuff, but let’s see if it gets rewritten, or if Cameron comes on board as producer or what.

(Start October 5, 1998)
Cast: Pierce Brosnan, Rene Russo, Denis Leary, Esther Canadas, Frankie Faison
Dir., John McTiernan;
Scr., Leslie Dixon, Kurt Wimmer, Peter Doyle
It’s a remake of a classic. But it has the talent and the director to make a go of it. The scary idea is we may see this film, before we see McTiernan’s EATERS OF THE DEAD... sad.

The Breakers

(Comedy)

What Lies Beneath

(Ghost Story)
Shooting soon
Cast: Harrison Ford, Michelle Pfeiffer
Dir., Robert Zemeckis
Scr., Clark Gregg
Not your typical Harrison Ford flick, or your typical Michelle Pfeiffer film. This movie will... get under your skin, but the first draft of the script wasn’t anywhere near filmable... BUT, it did have elements that I’m sure Zemeckis and crew have decided to make flourish more. It’s an understated film... It’s a true Haunting film. I’m dying to hear how the project is progressing

The Haunting of Hill House

(Horror Remake)
Shooting in Los Angeles
(Start November 30, 1998)

Dir., Jan De Bont;
Scr., David Self;
Cam., Karl Walter Lindenlaub; Ed., Michael Kahn;
PrdDsgn., Eugenio Zanetti;
SFX, John Frazier;
A remake of the original masterpiece by Robert Wise. Will it be atmospheric? I’ve heard that Eugenio Zanetti’s production designed house is reminescient of the Disney Land Hanuted Mansion.... I love that place.... We’ll see. Everything you hear on this project I want to know, the script is very very solid, and is quite faithful to the original, but removing the narration of the Lili Taylor character. One of the first films to use the upcoming new LucasFilm Sound Advances.

(Action/Drama)
(Start Feb.)
Shooting in United Kingdom, Malta
Cast:Russell Crowe, Djimon Hounsou, Joaquin Phoenix, Connie Nielson, Oliver Reed;
Dir., Ridley Scott
Scr., David Franzoni, John Logan
Alright, if you even have to friggin think about how cool this one will be then you need some sort of mental shocktreatment. Ridley Scott bringing us the horrors of ancient Rome... Well, Russell Crowe seems to be getting ready for the Kirk Douglas role, and Djimon Hounsou is the Willie Stode character I guess. Rumor has tell that there is a man vs Rhino in the arena battle that will quite simply make us cheer like them Roman bastards did.

Minority Report

(Science Fiction)
Starts Shooting in September
Cast: Tom Cruise
Dir., Steven Spielberg
From the short story by Phillip K Dick
Well I don’t know what this will do to Mel Gibson’s FAHRENHEIT 451 project, but it’ll be nice to see Spielberg tacking science fiction again.

SPIRIT OF THE WEST

Dir., Janusz Kaminski
Scr., Pierce Gardner
Spielberg’s Cinematographer is set to direct, what I am told is a supernatural thriller. Well, he’s got a great cast, I don’t know anything about the script though, so... let’s hope it’s a birth of a great director, and not the demise of a great cinematographer...
