Oh dear a strange man with arms emanating from his forehead and poped out eyes approached me with this latest news. His name was Basil Wolverton and he brought forth news about RED DWARF, I know that should be a Coaxial subject, but this time it is a Red Dwarf Feature Film. Eeek, holy cross media barriers! Enjoy...
The main thing that i am writing to tell you is that i have confirmation of the proposed Red Dwarf film getting the green light. In an interview with Craig (Lister) Charles in the September issue of Cult TV, a new British genre mag, he states "We start filming in October, so i suppose it'll be out next summer, or Christmas 1998, 20 million budget. Not a lot for science fiction, but loads for a British film. There's American money involved too, obviously. Ed Bye's gonna direct it, so it'll have the same feel as the series, but on a much bigger scale-a proper film for a worldwide audience." Cool or what???...Chris Barrie and Danny Jon-Jules (Rimmer and the Cat) are both confirmed to be in it but i haven't heard if the Kryten, Kochanski or either of the Holly's are in it...here's hoping.
