Well folks I've taken you to the set, behind-the-scenes, and to the all night football
shoot. Now you have a chance to see THE FACULTY, yourself, 9 days early at the
World Premiere here in Austin. I'm about to give ya the whole lowdown on the
event.
The Premiere will be benefiting the TEXAS FILMMAKERS' PRODUCTION
FUND which is organized and set up by the Austin Film Society to help independent film
types struggling to bring their films to a theater near you to realize their dream. Your
ticket will allow you to see the movie at the incredible PARAMOUNT THEATER here in
Austin, as well as getting you into a groovy as hell party afterwards here in Austin that is
being hosted by Mike Judge, Richard Linklater, Matthew McConaughey, Guillermo del
Toro and myself. In addition you'll have a chance to hobnob and be chit chatty with
various celebs and cool types from THE FACULTY including Robert Rodriguez
himself.
How much fun is this screening going to be?
Well... At Robert's last premiere at THE PARAMOUNT, we had FROM DUSK
TILL DAWN, and without a doubt it was one of the most electric audiences I have ever
seen a film with. It is a completely biased audience that is set to have fun. No, strike that,
they'll be there to have FUN (all caps). To give you an idea of the insanity planned,
Robert will be coming out before the film to announce the details about winning the 1970
GTO hot rod that Josh Hartnett's character drives. It is black with two red racing stripes
and is a mean mutherfucking machine bent for eating asphalt miles like Cheerios for
breakfast. Everytime the Zeke-mobile appears on screen the audience will go bonkers. In
fact, there is a possibility of deafness caused by them. This car, if everything goes the way
I imagine it, will be one of the 'COOL' cars in film. The trunk is very cool, I just hope the
contents are as Zeke left em. Heh heh heh...
Ok ok ok, am I biased about this film. Ya damned straight. I'm so friggin excited to
see myself in a horror/sci-fi film that I'm near bursting. Ha ha, yeah, I know I've been near
bursting for years ya wise-ass, but I'm talking about the wickedly cool vibe I get thinking
about this film. Did you see the footage on David Letterman the other night when my
future love of my life, Salma Hayek was on? Michael Ironside eat your heart out, Robert
Patrick was pulling a majorly cool SCANNERS bit with my dearest. And I can guarantee
that I'll be in great spirits and not cross with anyone. On top of celebrating my surely
Academy Award nominated Supporting Acting nod in the film, I'll also be celebrating my
sister's graduation from HIGH SCHOOL on the same day. Is that too cool or what?
From High School Student to a tattooed pierced silver screen chick all on the same day.
When I graduated, I just wound up with a double blow-out and a 18 mile walk to a
telephone. Sigh.
Here are the details.... The screening is DECEMBER 16th at 8:00pm at the
Paramount Theatre.
Tickets go on sale to AUSTIN FILM SOCIETY members by purchasing tickets
directly from the Paramount Box Office (713 Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas) from
December 7th through my
birthday, December 11th. If you are not a member of the Austin Film Society then
you can join by calling for further details at (512) 322-0145. Why join? Well it looks like
in February, they'll be doing a 10 day Quentin Tarantino Film Fest including a Jack Hill
marathon (though that is tentative at the present) For the PARAMOUNT THEATER
Box Office call (512) 472-5470.
Then, for everyone that can't become a member, well beginning on December 12,
the tickets that haven't sold go on sale to the general public via the Paramount Box Office
and/or STAR Ticket Outlets at (888) 597-STAR. The tickets range from $15 to $20 to
$35 and they all include the chance to win Zeke's GTO as well as being able to attend the
post-screening party. With a $100 donation you get your ticket, all the above stuff, as
well as getting to a attend a pre-party. For all additional information check out the Austin Film Society website and The PARAMOUNT THEATER
website. Just so you know, the theater holds 1300 people and was recently equiped
with a kickass Digital Sound system... so be prepared to be wowed.
So if you make it down for the Premiere, don't be shy my friend, too many times I
get emails from folks that say, "Oh you looked too busy and I didn't want to disturb you."
Ahhhhhhhh horse pucky. Say "Hi" tell me I need to hang up my acting dreams in the attic
far away from the eyes of man. Or ask me why I don't move in the cool 'Rodriguez
strobey-motion' in real life. Or just ask me if OB1 is Darth Maul? I don't care, but have
fun, that's what the evening is all about.
And for you sell-out cryers... well, BLOW, I'm in a Robert Rodriguez flick and you
can go suck di... double dipped Rocky Road. I’m at this screening to celebrate being in a
Sci-Fi/Horror film. And if that ain’t just about every film geeks secret deep down wet
dream since the dawn of thought I don’t know what the fuck is. Until the 16th, I’ll see
y’all when I see y’all!
