Here you folks go. If you go, I'd love to hear how things went and what you thought about what you saw. So let me know. Without further ado, here you go....
This is to let you know that Scott Squires, the visual effects supervisor for Star Wars - Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, will be giving a keynote address at DCC Expo THIS WEDNESDAY at the Los Angeles Convention Center. In addition he is also bringing with him the Star Wars Episode 1 trailer that will be shown on a big screen. Here's how your readers can get a free pass. They first have to go to:
https://www.advanstar.com/dcc98/exhibit/exhibit.html
Fill out the form, print it, then take it to the Los Angeles Convention Center on Wednesday morning to the registration table and a free pass will be issued.
The keynote starts at 9:30 AM. In addition to Scott Squires speaking, John Hughes (CEO & President of Rhythm & Hughes Studio) will also be speaking. I believe the keynotes are being held in Room 403AB in the upper level of the Los Angeles Convention Center, which seats over 1,000 people.

Here's another tip for your readers. On Wednesday night at 7PM there will be a special presentation called "LightWave Theater" that will show effects from many movies, like Titanic, that incorporated LightWave 3D software. Troops will be shown as will trailers for two upcoming action 3D movies called "Blue Planet" and "Vortex". In addition Steve Oedekerk, the writer/producer of Ace Ventura II: When Nature Calls, co-writer of Dr. Doolittle, and writer of the upcoming Patch Adams will make a personal appearance to talk about two projects he has in the works. This event is being held in the same room as Scott Squires keynote. People can get free tickets by dropping by booth #620 - the LightWave 3D Applied booth - and asking for a complimentary ticket to Wednesday night's LightWave Theater event.

P.S. I just learned that the business section of the LA Times for today, tomorrow, and Wednesday is running an ad that will get people into DCC Expo for free. All the person has to do is clip the ad and bring it to the Los Angeles Convention Center on Wednesday. I'd recommend people arrive early since Scott Squires will probably be a very popular keynote attraction (as well as John Hughes).
