About that whole STAR WARS SPECIAL EDITION foopah!

Well gosh, I leave Austin, and just look what sorta trouble Glen gets himself into. Well, as many of you are well aware of, Glen posted up a story about the possible rereleasing to the original Star Wars Special Edition, with special Prequel trailers before each film. He had said this was a 'rumor' and that it was 'tentative' and not a for sure deal.
Glen, being the anal-retentive fella that he is, had 3 separate reliable sources on this. Sources that... well, to say they have come through in the past is a gross gross understatement. So Glen put it up with bags of salt and spoons to take it with.
A couple of days goes by and the Official Star Wars Website puts up a story, which... at the end of which, Lucas debunks the rumor.
Well bummer I say. I personally love the history of doing this with Star Wars rereleases. How many of us remember the rerelease of STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE that had the little "See a special preview of REVENGE OF THE JEDI in the bottom right hand corner? I do.
I don't know about you, but I sure as hell would rather stand in line to see them 'ooooooooold' Star Wars flicks with a Prequel trailer than excrement like THE WATERBOY.
But hey, that's over... end of story. We know something is up in January cause that's when Lucas' crew want all the trailers in theaters returned and all the posters as well (or destroyed) And there was one detail that Glen was very uncertain about...
He wasn't sure if the sources were talking about a theatrical run, a video rerelease or a DVD release. Well Lucas shot down the Theatrical run. Hopefully we'll be getting an answer about a DVD Release of the Trilogy, and.... will new trailers be on them? Curious minds like mine want to know.
I would think it would be a good time to announce such a decision, due to the possibility of selling DVD players at stores for Christmas. This announcement would surely increase the 'Christmas' request from Geeks around the world. .... The power of marketing.... ewwwwwwwwwww.... scary.
