Glen here…
On Friday, STARWARS.COM indicated the STAR WARS EPISODE I trailer would screen Tuesday November 17 at the CINEMARK TINSELTOWN on I-35 just north of Stassney.
After being consulted about this, management at said theater indicated Tinseltown’s sister theater (the BARTON CREEK CINEMA) would be screening the trailer instead.
When approached about whether or not they would show the trailer, the management of BARTON CREEK CINEMA indicated that…indeed…they *were* showing the EPISODE I trailer on Tuesday November 17, attached to WATERBOY and MEET JOE BLACK. This was later reiterated by AICN readers who had also received confirmation of the trailer screenings at Barton Creek Cinema from theater management, and bought tickets for those movies.
Many people went to the BARTON CREEK CINEMA and bought tickets to a Tuesday screening of these films, with the expectation of seeing the EPISODE I trailer attached to them as management had indicated.
I have just talked to the management of both Tinseltown (I-35, north of Stassney) and the Barton Creek Cinema. THE EPISODE I TRAILER WILL NOT BE SCREENED AT THE BARTON CREEK CINEMA TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 17!!! Yes, the Barton Creek Cinema is where management of *both* theaters had indicated the trailer would be screened, but it *will not* be there Tuesday. Instead, the trailer will screen Tuesday at the TINSELTOWN on South I-35 north of Stassney, as was originally announced (it will screen in the same place which said the Barton Creek Cinema would get the trailer instead. Go figure.)
I have gotten two separate & conflicting reports re: whether Tinseltown would accept Barton Creek’s tickets. One report indicates that the Tinseltown should accept Barton Creek’s tickets (as both theaters are in the same chain), another report indicates that anyone who bought tickets at the Barton Creek Cinema needs to take their tickets back to the Barton Creek for a cash refund - or an in-chain "movie voucher" from Cinemark - which can then apply towards movies at the Tinseltown on I-35 north of Stassney). The trailer at the Tinseltown will be attached to WATERBOY and MEET JOE BLACK, for every screening throughout the day.
I suggest calling both theaters if you have already purchased tickets from the Barton Creek Cinema. Feel free to post anything you learn to the "talkbacks" below. The BARTON CREEK THEATER box office is: 306-8289, and TINSELTOWN box office is 326-4408.
