BOND 19 script report!!!

Hey folks, I haven't seen this script yet so I can't really comment on the film yet, but allegedly it's something I should be seeing in the upcoming future. There are SPOILERS in this so if it's something you want to be pure for, don't read below my intro here. Ok here we go....

Stax here. I recently skimmed a draft of the Purvis/Wade Bond 19 script dated June 18, 1998. The cover page had the title listed as "The World is Not Enough" but the first page just had a headline of "Bond 19". The female character is named Elektra King and she is the daughter of a British nobleman and oil baron assassinated during the pre-credits sequence. Bond was apparently friends with her father and I don't recall him being his killer (I believe he was there to prevent it, failed, and has the guilties over it). Bond is hurt in this sequence but not gravely, as has been reported previously. Bond is just getting older and he knows it. Zukofsky (that's how they spelled it in this draft) is the primary antagonist for most of the picture. There is a shady villain named Renard who is some kind international baddie in the typical Bond vein but he seems to enter the picture later on. Their scheme seems to be about the takeover of Lord King's oil pipelines in the Caspian or Black Sea, which makes the Persian Gulf seem like a puddle (to paraphrase the script). There is a Bond girl named Christmas who enters the film later on after Elektra's been kidnapped and revealed to be in on the villains' schemes (she has father issues, hence the name). I didn't catch too many Xmas jokes but the ending is pure Bond: He's in bed with Christmas celebrating their success when she confides in him that, in an earlier sexual encounter together, "Christmas came early." Best final Bond line in a looong time!
