On Set Report From End Club Scene of Milos Forman's and Jim Carrey's MAN ON THE MOON!!!!

I need to head on to bed, so I need to keep this short, but I just want to say that the people that have been giving us set reports on MAN ON THE MOON have just done a wonderful job. I really really appreciate it when we get reports this well done. Thanks to everyone... Now join our little Monkey on the set for the last shots....

Last Thursday was very special for me. I got to witness the filming of the last scenes in the Milos Forman directed, Man On the Moon. First off, the crowd (about 500?) was very cool, for it was a LONG shoot. We waited from 8:30 am to 10am to be picked up via bus, then 10 hours shooting supposedly the last scenes of the film to be taken place at NY's Carnagie Hall.

The LA Theatre looked like its former glory as PA's and assistants, and stand-ins raced about setting up the shots. The place went crazy when Jim as Andy walked out. He was wearing white pants and a faded yellow T-shirt. His hair was in Andy form, and that only enhanced Jim's look. Jim Carrey IS Andy in this film, and yes the rumors are true, everyone form Milos on down calls him Andy. He walks, talks and acts like Andy before and after the scenes are shot. Jim errrr Andy was very sweet to us, and attempted to entertain us the long wait between shoots. He did the bongos, sang Elvis, as well as some Styx and Billy Joel. He interacted well as Andy and seemed genuinely happy we were there to witness as he called it, "the greatest night of my life." We even got to be filmed for crowd shoots and reactions, very, extremely cool.

Courtney Love was there, as was Danny DeVito. The former getting a lot of love from the crowd. The food was good, free candy and cookies, milk, coffee and a chances to bear witness to cinema history. It was as Jim as Andy as Lavka said, "how do you say in your country, kick ass?" Deffinately kick ass from the Monkey's perspective.

The long final scene begins with an old 30's film projecting the glimmering images of young women riding hobby horses. Then Andy brings out the last surviving member of that film. He goads her into riding the hobby horse as the band strikes up. Andy directs them to play faster and faster, until the old woman collapses. The show is stopped as a doctor races onto stage only to proclaim the woman dead. Andy then appears from off stage wearing an Indian headdress. He chants and dances until the woman rises. The crowd goes nuts, and Andy proclaims it a miracle. The back curtian then opens to reveal the Mormon Tabrnackle Choir, then then Rockettes appear from offstage, Andy gleefully dances about the stage as confetti snows down form the ceiling.

The crowd is beside themselves, and Andy is intoxicated with joy as he points out Santa descending from the balcony in full sleigh. Andy then tells the crowd he is taking them out for milk and cookies. The crowd rises to their feet as Andy leads Court, and Danny, and the first rows out of the theatre. Did I mention it was very cool? Yeah, I think I did. That's all for now, and as always I AM OUT!
