Info on what's coming up with ADAM SANDLER!!! Will he be working with Martin Scorsese'

In what I can only say is... not entirely appealing to me (though I admit to being somewhat of a... shall we say...Anti-Sandler-type) News has come to me through a Barfly I know that Adam (OperaMan) Sandler may very well be playing the amazing DINO... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, but hey, that's just me. Tom Joad loves Adam Sandler, My sister loves him. Well I guess none of us can... be completely cool, and I am far from that. Here's the Barfly's report...

I was on a conference call tonight with Adam Sandler with a bunch of other college kids and he said lots of cool stuff, some of which you, or at least your Sandler fans, might want to know.

First of all, he said that it was great being mentioned by Scorcese as being on a dream list to play DINO. He said that nobody had contacted him in any way, though, and that he’d believe it when he hears it.

Second, he commented that after he finishes the movie that he is currently working on (BIG DADDY as reported on AICN) he is going to go home and finish a new album that he is in the middle of.

Third, he said that being a big Yankees fan, he is definitely thinking about putting together a baseball movie.

Fourth, in the middle of the interview somebody asked if he had seen Spade lately. Adam said that he saw him yesterday, and then he hinted that he might drop in to give his buddy some help on Saturday when he hosts SNL. SPADE and SANDLER reunited on SNL—that would rock!! He just laughed when the questioner prodded him for more info. Fifth, he said that he would never turn one of his SNL characters into a movie.

He said that THE WATERBOY is pretty close to "Canteen Boy," but that is as close as he’ll get. Finally, when asked about Farley, he said that it’s fun to get with Spade and talk about all of the funny stuff that he used to do. He went on to say that he cast Farley’s two brothers in bit parts in THE WATERBOY, and it was great to hang out with them.

All in all, Sandler did not take any serious movie questions seriously, and that may be the key to his success. He said that he sits down with his college roommate, Tim Herlihy, and they think up a character, 3 acts, surround it all with some jokes, and then insert parts for their college friends to play so they can hang out and have a studio pick up the bill for 3 months. The wonder of the movies, Harry!

If you use this, call me BARFLY.
