Rest In Peace Barnard Hughes

Hey, fellas. Quint here again. This time with another obituary. If you're a child of the '80s like I am you'll remember Barnard Hughes for his roles in geek favorites THE LOST BOYS and TRON. He played the great Grandpa character in LOST BOYS that knew a little bit more about what was going on than any other adults. "One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach, all the damn vampires."

In TRON he helped along The Dude as Dumont within the computer world and Dr. Gibbs in the real world.

He had a big influence on the geeks with his '80s and early '90s work (DOC HOLLYWOOD, anybody?), but he was also a very well respected actor's actor, having won a Tony in 1978 for "Da." He also won an Emmy that same year for his appearance in "LOU GRANT."

His stage work goes back to the '30s and he appeared in many films, including MIDNIGHT COWBOY, 1964's HAMLET, RAGE, THE HOSPITAL, OH GOD! and Brian DePalma's early flick SISTERS.

He died at the age of 90. My thoughts are with his friends, family and fans.
