HARRY HERE WITH A WARNING: I just received a report that told me these pics are part of a demo render as part of a program called MAYA, and are not a part of FINAL FANTASY. Well can anyone clarify this. I've heard these pics were in magazines... were they misattributated? Watch TALK BACK for more info!!!
Here's some news and pics that THE SCHNOO sent into me a long time ago, but due to my incompetent bumbling... well you haven't been able to enjoy. Dagdangit! But here ya go, looks pretty dang cool. I wonder if this or BLUE PLANET will hit theaters first? Hmmmm... Any further info on this flick would be helpful...
I still think this movie is gonna beat the pants off most anything.

The first shot is of an old man, supposedly the grandfather of the main character. It's awesome, and looks so real!

The second is of a warrior, known only as the armorman, bitchin none the less.

The third is of a conclave of warriors, the same kind as the previous pic of the armorman. This scene concerns some plans for a city or perhaps the destruction thereof.
also, here is a short synopsis of the plotline released by square.
An animator (using the code name "Agent Shinra") for the full-length, fully-rendered Final Fantasy film has leaked some details about the project. The main character is tenatively named Grey. Grey looks to be modeled after Brad Pitt; while the resemblence is unintentional, the designers apparently want to create a character with his appeal.
The movie does NOT feature any characters from previous Final Fantasy games. Like Final Fantasy VII, there are many science fiction elements. The animator describes sequences of "Grey riding hover bikes and firing laser guns in a densely populated city area." The animator has not seen any other character renderings, but has seen rough sketches of several female characters. Perhaps a love triangle? Voices have yet to be recorded, and the role of magic - if any - has yet to be decided. Square's talent for this project is top-notch, including former Disney animators, an art director from the "5th Element," and the CG director responsible for the the intro sequences to Namco's Tekken 2 and Soul Blade.
Every single desk on the top two floors has a Silicon Graphics Octane workstation. Even so, rendering is only progressing at the rate of a second of film per day until more computing power arrives. Let's hope it shows up soon!
